Press Release – Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)

PRESS RELEASE

As we move through Fall and the days are getting shorter and colder Delaware County would like to make sure all eligible residents are able to access funding through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP).

Eligibility is determined by:

Income;
Household Size;
Type of Primary Heating Source
Presence of a household member who is either under the age of 6, 60 years or older, or permanently disabled.

Eligible heat sources include:

Electricity;
Natural Gas;
Oil;
Coal;
Propane;
Wood/Wood Pellets;
Kerosene;
Corn

If you want to learn more about HEAP or believe you are eligible you can contact the Delaware County Office for the Aging either in person or via phone Monday – Friday 8AM – 4PM. Staff will be available to assist any person inquiring about the program. The contact number is (607) 832-5750 or you can stop into the offices located at 97 Main Street in Delhi.
